Dr. Shane D. Lee

Dr. Shane Lee is a native of Jones Chapel, Alabama. He graduated from West Point High School in 1999, continued on to Wallace State Community College and then attended Auburn University from 2001-2003 where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Dairy Science. Dr. Shane earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. Dr. Shane completed two years of post graduate work at a small animal practice in Georgia, and then joined Lee’s Veterinary Hospital in 2009.

Dr. Shane’s special interests in veterinary medicine include orthopedics, theriogenology, and large animals. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.

His family includes his wife, Amberly, daughters Charlie, Eliana, and son Harper. Their pet family is quite extensive and includes 8 dogs, Herschel, Ruger, Semper, Tank, Wilson, Brantley, Callie, and Honey Bun. Their cats are Steve and Kitty. Their family of cows includes Augustus, Robert, Thomas, Melissa, Annabelle, Cocoa, Ellie May, Amber, Jersey, and five calves. They also have three emu, named Kevin, Marv, and Myrtle; two donkeys, Ambjam and Sparkle; a sheep called Littlebit, and a Mule named Joe.

When he is not at the hospital, Dr. Shane enjoys spending time with his family, doing anything outdoors, and working on his farm.

An interesting fact about Dr. Lee and his wife Amberly is that they own Heavenlee Companion Aquamation, a company that offers a gentle alternative to fire cremation after your beloved pets have passed on.
